Briana is an amazing, thoughtful, committed, creative personal trainer who has, no joke, changed my life. I never thought I would need a trainer – I’ve done triathlons, swam from Alcatraz, lifted weights, cardio kickboxing, zumba, etc – but I was having trouble just getting to the gym, wanted to lose a little weight and get stronger, and just wasn’t sure what would work best for me.
Enter Briana. After a thoughtful conversation, she set me up with a High Intensity Interval Training program. She taught me that working hard doesn’t have to involve getting yelled at by a drill instructor, or pushing to the brink of collapse, or exercising for hours and hours every day. Two or three half hour sessions per week have made an amazing change. I’ve lost a bunch of weight, and I’m now more muscular and stronger, I have better stamina and balance and flexibility, and I have more energy and strength for my other pastimes (riding dressage horses). Best of all, Briana knows when to push a little, and when to say “if you’re tired, you should take a break”. She’s a tough cookie but also super committed to people not over-stressing themselves, resting when you feel like it, and eating healthy but giving yourself treats when you want to.

I feel very lucky to have found Briana. I haven’t been consistent about exercise at all and since we have started to work together, I feel supported, pushed, and increasingly capable. Her methods are adapted entirely to my needs (and I am sure of those of her other clients, of course!), and I am learning so much from her approach, which involves thinking about the work you are doing in the moment, and then not being too obsessed with it at other times.
